Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: 5 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Zommate collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use our platform to discover restaurants, connect with other users, book tables and make payments.

1. Overview

Zommate ("we", "us") provides a platform for discovering restaurants, inviting people to meals, booking tables and making related payments. This policy applies to all users of the platform, including diners and restaurant partners.

2. Information we collect

Account information such as your name, email address, mobile number, date of birth and gender. Profile information such as a profile photo, bio, hobbies and availability preferences you choose to add.

Location and address details you provide to help others find you or to complete a booking. Booking and transaction information, including restaurants viewed, invitations sent or received, reservations and payment references. Device and usage information such as log data, approximate location and analytics collected automatically when you use the platform.

3. How we use information

We use your information to operate and improve Zommate, including creating and securing your account, verifying your identity, enabling bookings and invitations, processing payments, providing customer support, and sending essential service communications such as OTPs and booking updates.

We may also use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics, and, where you have opted in, to send marketing communications.

4. How we share information

We share information with restaurant partners as needed to fulfil a booking, with other users when you choose to make your profile public or interact with them, and with service providers who help us operate the platform, such as hosting, messaging, maps and payment processors.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Zommate, our users or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Payment information

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Zommate does not store full card or bank account details; payment providers handle that information under their own security and privacy practices.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies, including analytics tools, to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

You can access and update most of your profile information directly from your account settings. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or object to certain processing, subject to applicable law.

You can control your profile visibility from your profile settings, and opt out of marketing communications at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

10. Children's privacy

Zommate is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone who does not meet the eligibility requirements in our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. International transfers

Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own through our service providers. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by applicable law.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our platform, legal obligations or business practices change. The updated date will appear at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice where required.

13. Contact

For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact Zommate through the support or contact channel displayed on the platform. Include your account email so we can verify and respond to your request, but never send passwords, OTPs or complete payment credentials.

This policy is intended as a practical platform policy and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before production use.
